Graduation

“Don’t be weary child keep looking”

Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God.
Philippians 1:3 (MSG)

Two days ago,I heard the reflections of the current graduating class of interns at Tenwek.  I heard some wonderful stories of learning and its challenges.  The educational mission has been a key to this institution.  It is an exciting time here.  The same will occur in March in the United States with the results of “the match”.

Yesterday evening we celebrated their completion of the internship.  There was food, photos and thanksgiving!  This internship has been in existence since 1996.  What has been rewarding to see is the growth of the educational mission with more interns, clinical officers and residents.

Like all longterm objectives, one year celebrations don’t really capture the impact of the effort or outcomes of the graduation festivities.  It is only the “down payment” on a promise of transformation.  This profession requires persistence as well as resilience.

Thanks be to God for these graduates and their contribution in the future.
